Senior Procurement Specialist

(Based in Mumbai India)

ORGANISATION

The role reports directly to the Procurement Head in company headquarters. As a critical link in the team you will work collaboratively with the Procurement Head Group Managers Category Leads and direct reports to ensure purchasing activities is carried out efficiently and with the key external stakeholders to ensure accuracy of purchase. You will be incharge of meeting the purchasing needs by planning category purchasing requirements and negotiation in adherence to procurement strategy and budget.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITES:

Procurement Strategy Planning: Provide input to overall procurement strategy through annual projection of items and purchase plans within the assigned category.

Operational Excellence: Manage the complete procurement cycle within the assigned category from vendor sourcing tendering commercial evaluation recommendation and contract negotiation. Be accountable for leading negotiation efforts.

Continuous Improvement: Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Cost management: Be responsible for maintaining and adherence to the operations budget meeting the saving targets within the assigned category.

Leadership and Capability Development: Develop capabilities of junior team members through formal or informal mentorship. Identify and address competency gaps and areas for development.

Requirements

• Bachelor s in Maritime Supply Chain Management or related fields.
  
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement in shipping marine or heavy industries.
  
• Indepth understanding of operational requirements in the ship management industry are preferred.
  
• Experience in dealing with dry docking suppliers/ shipyards in Asia and/or middle east and/or Mediterranean region is desirable (Korea China India Shipyards experience will be a plus and preferred).
  
• Skilled negotiator competent in building cost models.
