Crop Accountant

Job Summary:

The Crop Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of crop production including accounting budgeting and financial analysis. This role involves working closely with farm managers production teams and financial staff to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records for all croprelated activities including planting cultivation harvesting and sales.
• Monitor and analyze costs associated with crop production including labor equipment and supplies.
• Prepare and review budgets forecasts and financial reports related to crop operations.
• Perform cost accounting and variance analysis to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards industry regulations and company policies.
• Reconcile bank statements vendor accounts and other financial transactions related to crop production.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns financial statements and other regulatory filings.
• Coordinate with farm managers and production teams to gather and analyze data on crop yields input usage and other key metrics.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decisionmaking and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 35 years of experience in accounting preferably in the agricultural or crop production industry.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
• Experience with agricultural accounting software.
• Knowledge of industryspecific regulations and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with crop production processes and terminology.
