Responsibilities:

• Teach AG approved English courses and connect academic content with contemporary issues and community projects using a youth development approach.
• Teach up to five periods a day and facilitate Advisory Leadership Team and an elective of choice.
• Ensure that curriculum is academically rigorous aligned with state standards and fulfills specified course requirements.
• Develop supportive positive relationships with students.
• Utilize creative resources for projectbased learning and handson activities.
• Encourage critical thinking and student selfassessment.
• Work with students to develop individual learning plans that guide their education and ensure progress towards learning goals.
• Support students in meeting graduation requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings parent meetings and community events.
• Differentiate pedagogy and curriculum to address diverse needs and learning styles.
• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Leverage educational technology to enhance student learning.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
• California Teaching Credential in English.
• Bachelor of Arts degree; related advanced degrees preferred but not required.
• Experience in alternative youth development and/or experiential learning settings.
• Experience with educational assessment tools and methodologies.
• Experience and/or strong interest in community development.
• Ability to work in a youthfriendly collaborative studentcentered environment.
• Ability to use authority set boundaries and maintain high standards with youth.
• Experience working with diverse groups learners and communities.
