Data Engineer

Skills:

Proven experience as a Data Engineer Database Administrator or similar role.

Strong SQL skills and experience with MySQL or other relational databases.

Advanced proficiency in Excel including macros pivot tables and complex functions.

Experience with ETL tools data modeling and data warehousing concepts.

Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Python Perl) for data processing.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Roles and responsibilities:

Data Management and Development:

Design construct install test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.

Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.

Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.

Create custom software components and analytics applications.

Database and Spreadsheet Handling:

Develop and optimize database schemas tables and queries for efficiency and reliability.

Manage MySQL databases ensuring data integrity performance and security.

Utilize advanced Excel skills including macros pivot tables and VLOOKUP to analyze and transform data.

ETL Processes:

Develop and implement ETL processes for data transformation mapping and aggregation from multiple sources.

Automate manual processes optimize data delivery and redesign infrastructure for greater scalability.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Work with stakeholders to assist with datarelated technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product.

Prepare reports and dashboards by collecting analysing and summarizing data and trends.

Collaboration and Support:

Collaborate with data scientists business analysts and other team members to understand data needs.

Offer support and training to endusers in MySQL database usage and Excel data manipulation.

Document all processes and systems thoroughly to enable smooth operations and easy maintenance.
