As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients including assessment diagnosis treatment and followup. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver highquality patientcentered care. Your primary responsibilities will include:
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners for its 82bed behavioral health hospital located in Brockton MA. BMC Brockton operates as a behavioral health accountable care organization providing cutting edge inpatient treatment and stabilization for individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance use needs. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are a critical part of a multidisciplinary team and possess unique expertise and a focus on providing quality behavioral health care to acute populations.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are dedicated team members responsible for assisting a variety of patients by evaluating medical and psychosocial conditions and overseeing the development and implementation of treatment plans. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to take care of the mental emotional or behavioral disorders for patients engaged in services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Provide evidencebased evaluation diagnosis and treatment of patients including prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeutic interventionsProvide treatment either independently or with physician supervision in accordance with Massachusetts regulationsDevelop treatment plans measure progress against the plans and make adjustments as needed. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Collaborate with a broader team of physicians nurses social workers psychologists and occupational therapists to assess and adjust treatment plans. Coordinate and communicate with case managers family members and other stakeholders regarding treatment and care. Participate in the teaching of students and other traineesParticipate in departmental and organizational quality improvement programs
Education:
Masters Degree from a Nurse Practitioner education program (with specialization in mental health) accredited by a Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursingrecognized national accreditation body
Certification:
Current advanced practice certification by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing approved nationally recognized certifying body
