Job Summary
Our Client is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for a position in Orlando FL responsible for electrical and controls engineering on largescale projects. This role involves control system design electrical panel design risk assessment control system programming and installation/commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical/control systems from concept to completion.
- Create detailed designs using drafting software (AutoCAD preferred).
- Integrate systems with other project disciplines and optimize panel locations.
- Manage vendor scope to ensure safety and contract compliance.
- Ensure designs meet local government and client codes/standards.
- Generate and implement technical risk assessments.
- Design safetycritical parts and redundant mitigations for control systems.
- Develop documents for system configuration including operation descriptions design descriptions and test plans.
- Perform system design calculations/analysis including short circuit protection power consumption and safety system implementation.
- Support system installation/commissioning including working offshifts if needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in control system design and implementation.
- Knowledge of contract documents specifications and field data collection.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
- Experience with major industrial hardware/software (e.g. AllenBradley Siemens).
- Familiarity with ethernetbased distributed remote I/O systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplined environment.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Ability to see hear speak clearly and perform tasks requiring dexterity.
- Ability to drive lift climb and maneuver equipment.
- Work in standard office onsite and diverse industrial/construction environments.
- Expected to be on client location 5 days a week.
