Events and Campaigns Officer

23 months contract with a Local Authority

Job Summary:

Southwark 2030 is Southwark Councils (and its partners) strategic plan. We will be launching the strategy in September and this includes a conference and series of engagement events with key stakeholders.

Were looking for an events and campaigns specialist to help us run this programme of events.

Looking for an events and campaign officer to help organise run and promote Southwark Council events.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

Were looking for someone with strong experience of running events ideally within the local government sector.

In terms of the events we need to hit the ground running and work up the programme from nothing to a substantive programme very quickly.

You will be sitting with the communications team but will be the only events specialist in that team.

You will need to liaise with people right across the organisation as well as other stakeholders in the borough and venues etc.

As well as the Southwark 2030 work there may be other projects events or campaignsrelated we ask you to support with.

Essential Experience Required:

Experience of running events ideally within the local government sector is essential.

Essential Qualification Required:

A good general standard of education written and good verbal skills is essential.

Additional information to note:

Working hours: 36 hours per week.

There is an option for Hybrid working with two days in the London Bridge office and three days from home or office. Some flexibility though particular on event days where candidate would need to be in Southwark is required.
