Job Description

Who are we Los Alamos Medical Center is the only hospital in Los Alamos County and is a major healthcare provider for Northern New Mexico. Our 47bed acute care facility has been providing quality and compassionate emergency care surgical care inpatient and outpatient services to the communities of Northern New Mexico for over 70 years. Our highly trained Medical Staff and over 300 healthcare employees deliver a level of medical technology and technique that is not commonly found in small community hospitals.

As the Director of Financial Services and Patient Access you will be responsible for the daily operations of all Parallon managed facilitybased revenue cycle functions and serve as the onsite liaison between the facility and Parallon Client Relations or the SSC. You will integrate the departments services with the hospitals clinical and ancillary teams implement policies and procedures that guide or support service levels assess and improve department performance and ensure orientation and continuing education of departmental staff.

What will you do

  • You will oversee facility operations of Patient Access functions (e.g. preregistration benefit verification preauthorization admission/registration service prepayment etc.) to ensure daily operations are maintained according to standard
  • You will coordinate with facility departments/administration teams to manage key revenue cycle performance expectations and challenges including: upfront collections protocols capturing accurate information timely registration and patient satisfaction denial prevention patient flow unbilled patient concerns.
  • You will review Patient Access performance to ensure timeliness accuracy compliance and standards fulfillment as defined in Service Level Agreements
  • You will oversee management of Patient Access personnel including providing recommendations for hiring promotion salary adjustments and ensure staff is aware of any policy or procedure changes.
  • You will actively seek ways to control costs and improve processes without compromising patient safety quality of care of the services delivered.
  • You will coordinate with facility departments/administration teams to manage key revenue cycle performance expectations and challenges including: upfront collections protocols capturing accurate information timely registration and patient satisfaction denial prevention patient flow unbilled patient concerns and more.

What will you need

  • A Bachelors degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of healthcare management experience with three of those years in a patient access or revenue cycle leadership role.
