Grower Accountant

Job Summary:

The Grower Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and records related to our grower operations. This includes tracking expenses preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting excellent analytical skills and experience in the agriculture industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all financial transactions related to grower operations including accounts payable and receivable payroll and expense tracking.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Reconcile grower accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all grower financial activities.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for grower operations.
• Ensure compliance with federal state and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
• Provide financial support and guidance to growers helping them understand their financial statements and manage their finances effectively.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and complete financial information.
• Participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience preferably in the agriculture industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with process improvement and implementation of accounting systems is a plus.
