Job Description

A well established company is currently recruiting for a Construction Operations Manager in Accra Ghana

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This includes planning coordinating budgeting and supervising construction projects ensuring they are completed safely on time and within budget. The Construction Manager collaborates closely with architects engineers subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects..

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Minimum5 years experience in Quality/Engineering management
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to multitask prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans including schedules budgets and resource allocation.
  • Site Management: Oversee all activities on construction sites ensuring adherence to safety protocols quality standards and project specifications.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project expenditures review budget variances and implement costsaving measures as needed.
  • Contract Administration: Negotiate contracts with subcontractors suppliers and vendors. Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and handle any disputes or issues that arise.
  • Team Supervision: Manage construction teams including subcontractors foremen and laborers. Provide leadership guidance and support to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure workmanship and materials meet project standards and specifications.
  • Schedule Management: Monitor project timelines and milestones. Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes or delays.
  • Communication: Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders including clients architects engineers and regulatory authorities. Provide progress updates address concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts permits drawings and change orders.
  • Problem Solving: Address challenges and obstacles that arise during construction projects promptly and effectively. Develop creative solutions to minimize disruptions and keep projects on track.
  • Client Relations: Cultivate positive relationships with clients by providing excellent service addressing concerns promptly and delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Continual Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends best practices and emerging technologies. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
