Job Description
Adelphi is seeking parttime Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide private nursing services in a school district in the State of Maryland. The nurses will be needed to support students with special needs at Elementary Schools in Montgomery.

Shift Schedule: Monday Wednesday Thursday full day (6.5 hours)
Tuesday and Friday from 9:2512:30 (3.5 hours)
Pay Rate: LPN $45/Hr
RN $50/Hr
Requirements:
Active Maryland license
BLS/ACLS Certification
Bachelor s degree / Approved certificate program
Responsibilities:
Monitor for symptoms and escort student to the health room when she is experiencing chest pain headaches dizziness looks pale/blue in color is out of breath or squatting (lack of strength to stand).
Call the health room and tell the nurse to expect student so that she can watch for her arrival.
Escort student during any transitions or to the health room.
Escort student by wheelchair to designated location (in front of building or nearest location) during a fire drill.
Ensure that student has limited physical activity that can increase heart rate.
Implement the emergency care plan and implement AED within 60 seconds.
Ensure that a wheelchair is in an accessible location within close proximity of student at all times especially during recess P.E. or other locations that cause exertion.
Ensure that student has access to water and the ability to sit out when needed especially after a procedure.
Escort student by wheelchair in the event of a emergency evacuation.
Carry AED and pulse oximeter with student at all times including emergency evacuation.
