Job Description

Job Summary

The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design development testing and deployment of software applications. This role involves managing the daytoday activities of the team ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and manage a team of software engineers including hiring training and performance evaluation.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning execution and delivery of software projects ensuring they are completed on time within scope and within budget.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team ensuring the use of best practices in software development.
  • Code Review: Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality performance and security.
  • Agile Practices: Implement and promote Agile methodologies to improve development processes and team collaboration.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers designers and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver highquality software solutions.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation within the team exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance the development process.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance of software applications identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of software development processes code and systems.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with software development projects.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure software solutions meet the needs of customers and provide a positive user experience.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field. Masters degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical background with expertise in software development languages and frameworks (e.g. Java Python JavaScript .NET).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of software engineers with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management methodologies and tools including Agile/Scrum.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
