Job Description

Acts as liaison between the Range Department and range users in execution of the Range and Agriculture Program. Monitors and participates in a range of management activities that include; livestock checkouts construction and maintenance of resource improvements (fencing spring developments juniper removal) community and highway fenceline inspections and livestock/horse removal.

Will authorize livestock checkout as a regular part of the job and will maintain proper documentation and records. Will also participate in certified brand inspection courses as directed.

Skillful working with rounding up and trailer loading livestock while following proper protocols and safety measures.





Requirements

Must be experienced in riding horses and operating offroad vehicles. History of experience building and repairing fencing. Skills must include; operating a chain saw using post drivers fencing tools and associated hand held equipment. Must be orderly and organized and ensure equipment is maintained and safety procedures followed.

Must have good public relations with tribal members grazing groups coworkers and visitors. Must work well with others and will often work alongside wildlife biologists range specialists and restoration crews performing resource improvements.

Must be in excellent physical condition as the job is primarily field work often traversing over rough terrain and during inclement weather. Valid Drivers License required and be insurable with CTWS insurance carrier. Drug testing with random drug tests performed throughout employment. Tribal member preference. Must submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
