Machining Process New Product Development - Sr EngineerAsst Manager

Position Overview: As a Machining Process New Product Development Senior Engineer you will play a pivotal role in our client innovation and growth by leading the development of machining processes for new products. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure the successful introduction of new products into production focusing on optimizing machining processes for efficiency quality and costeffectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:

1. New Product Development (NPD):
   • Lead the machining process development for new products from concept through to production launch.
   • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and optimize machining strategies early in the product development cycle.
   • Conduct feasibility studies and provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM) to improve machining efficiency and reduce costs.
2. Process Optimization:
   • Develop and optimize machining processes on casting or Forging (Machining turning milling grinding etc.) to achieve quality cycle time and cost targets.
   • Utilize advanced machining techniques and technologies to enhance process capabilities and productivity.
   • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
3. Technical Leadership:
   • Serve as a subject matter expert on machining processes providing guidance and technical support to engineering and production teams.
   • Mentor junior engineers and technicians in machining techniques process troubleshooting and best practices.
   • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate new technologies and improve machining capabilities.
4. Quality and Compliance:
   • Ensure machining processes meet quality standards regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
   • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for machiningrelated quality issues.
   • Drive adherence to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the machining team.
5. Project Management:
   • Manage machiningrelated aspects of NPD projects including timelines budgets and resource allocation.
   • Communicate project status milestones and risks to stakeholders ensuring alignment with overall project goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering
• Proven experience 410 years ) in machining process development preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong expertise in VMC & CNC machining tooling selection fixture design and process optimization.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks NX Mastercam) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. FEA).
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machining processes.
• Experience in project management including managing timelines budgets and crossfunctional teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification or training in Lean Six Sigma and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience in automotive aerospace medical devices or other precision manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to machining processes and materials.
• Ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement initiatives in machining processes.
