Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Inventory Manager provides direct oversight to the Inventory Department which is responsible for accurately ensuring all cannabis and assembled inventory is properly assembled counted stored audited and distributed. They are responsible for directly managing coaching recruiting training and developing and Inventory Department staff including Supervisors Clerks and Transport Staff.


Understand and embrace the mission of SPARC affiliate organization(s) and their role in the industry and local and greater communities.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the COO.


SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Inventory Supervisors Clerks & Transport Staff


EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  1. Responsible for inventory management and control functions for cannabis and noncannabis items both physical and system in production licenses in multiple programs including QuickBooks Point of Sale Metrc and ERP or other inventory management systems that may be adopted.

  2. Maintain inventory control practices including intake coordination and sales of product.

  3. Maintain accuracy of inventory in storage. Audit all incoming/outgoing transfers and product movement at production facility; accounts for all cannabis transferred between licenses.

  4. Responsible for inventory transactions such as product intake and recording product information by collecting analyzing and entering information for labels.

  5. Record and communicate all discrepancies to the COO. Actively investigate & resolve variances and assembly records against onhand inventory.

  6. Responsible for recording inventory reconciliations relating to the assembly queue deliveries & onhand inventory.

  7. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and movement of all cannabis & noncannabis products for Manufacturing Distribution Processing and any other licenses as needed.

  8. Assist all relevant department Managers in Queue maintenance. Identify and communicate issues that could potentially impact product workflow.

  9. Responsible for maintaining the transfer schedule of bulk products & finished goods between all retail & production facilities. Ensure that the deadlines for all transfers are upheld.

  10. Coordinate wholesale transfers with clients including but not limited to scheduling collecting paperwork logistics

  11. Plan and communicate the Distribution Drivers weekly driving schedule.

  12. Coordinate with labs for Processing Manufacturing Distribution testing needs. Including but not limited to:

  1. Scheduling sample pick ups.

  2. Preparing samples and paperwork including the movement of product through Metrc.

  3. Overseeing sample collection and assuring product is correctly sampled.

  4. Logging test results for departments.

  1. Coordinate with the Product Department and Finished Goods Wholesale Department for allocations to stores and wholesale retailers.

  2. Prepare invoices and ensure collection of compliance documentation i.e. license information and resale certificates.

  3. Identify weaknesses in the execution of processes and develop a strategy for improvement procedures.

  4. Develop create and update SOP s for compliance and efficiency.

  5. File and maintain all physical and electronic records as required.

  6. With the assistance of HR develop create and maintain updated departmentspecific training manual and training documentation for entry level supporting roles.

  7. Oversee all aspects of departmental staff management including onboarding scheduling training discipline and coaching development recruiting and terminations.

  8. Perform other related work as required.

  9. Maintain a positive work environment conducive to trust and respect.

  10. Maintain the strictest confidentiality.

  14. Must have a high level of organization patience and flexibility.

  15. Must have successful time management skills the ability to selfmanage scheduling and maintain punctuality with scheduled events.

  16. Strong written and oral communication skills necessary.

  17. Refined interpersonal skills. Demonstrate the highest level of customer service and professional relationship maintenance with all clients and team members

  18. Must possess the mental and physical capacities to perform the job duties.

  19. Ability to maintain high standards in a fast paced constantly changing environment.

  20. Professional appearance with reliable and timely attendance.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate s or Bachelor s degree preferred. Three years of inventory management experience required. Must be 21 years old and pass a criminal background check. Must be at least 21 years old and willing to submit to a criminal background check.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work may require prolonged sitting/standing some bending stooping and stretching. Requires eyehand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer photocopier telephone calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.


TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed in a busy cannabis production facility. The facility may be loud due to fans and filtration systems fluctuating between extreme cold and hot temperatures. The room where most work is performed is very cold. Involves frequent contact with staff and the public. Must have a strong comfort level to interact with coworkers. Available to work varied hours/days including nights weekends holidays and/or city events.
