Job Description

Location: 11601 United Street Mojave CA 93501

Type: 5 months contract on W2

Shift Schedule: Day hours preferred but we are flexible. We are a 24/7 site and have flexibility on hours for this position. We would ideally like someone thats onsite 5 days a week and Fridays are a must.

Requirements:

  • While the incumbents areas of professional responsibility are established via the Medical Team the Medical Procedures Manual and the nursing profession and applicable governmental and company policies the incumbent enjoys flexibility and creativity in fulfilling these responsibilities.
  • CURRENT STATE LICENSURE IN GOOD STANDING at least 23 years experience in emergency medical treatment and/or adult health programs is required. It is desirable that the incumbent be a Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) and hold a B.S. degree in nursing or a related field and/or has prior experience in occupational medicine.
  • Certification of Pulmonary Function and Audiometric testing is required.


Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Assist EHS site manager(s) in charge of medical surveillance in supervising and administering clients medical programs in compliance with company governmental requirements and professional standards by providing company and regulatory required medical examinations of employees and applicants.
  2. Monitor status of site health problems both environmental and employeerelated with the advice and counsel of the various local teams (Safety Hygiene Ergonomics Wellness) and providing appropriate information advice and recommendations for managements corrective and preventive actions.
  3. Provide treatment and/or referral of employees needing first aid emergency care followup rehabilitation and early and safe return to work as so required and directed by circumstances physicians standing orders and professional standards.
  4. Proactively organizes populationbased health promotion initiatives and provides ad hoc counseling on health risk behavior modification and wellness.
  5. Responsible for the confidentiality of medical records; maintain a comprehensive system of documentation records and reports for services provided in conformance to both regulatory medicallegal requirements and internal recordkeeping policies; maintain active computerized medical data base in clients electronic database system (GS2 Cority as of the writing of this document).
  6. Conduct and/or coordinate training of personnel on healthrelated matters.
  7. Counsel with employees on an individual basis about healthrelated concerns requiring professional intervention.
  8. Continue professional growth by maintaining membership in various occupational health nurse associations and participating in seminars and conferences.
  9. To provide occupational health services to employees of the Company for the locations set forth below and such other locations as may be mutually agreed upon by both parties.
  10. Assist with the development of clinical protocols and care paths for common occupational health issues (vaccine programs injury prevention etc.).
  11. Strong emphasis on workers compensation disability/case management with the Company.
  12. Assists EHS with workplace injury response investigations case management etc. for assigned sites. The level of involvement will vary depending on location of client facility (onsite vs. remote support).

Notes from Hiring Manager:

Looking for someone with some workers comp. case management experience. The person must be onsite as we are a 24/7 facility but we have some flexibility on the hours but not on being onsite. We would ideally like someone thats onsite 5 days a week and Fridays are a must.
