Our Client is a leading Charity operating across Ireland supporting some of the most marginalized individuals couples and families experiencing Homelessness.
Currently Hiring an experienced Relief Worker for their Dublin Operation.
- Work with the Housing team to support clients in the daytoday activities of the program.
- Provide clients with supportive listening as needed. Encourage the client in problemsolving crisis resolution and other life skills as appropriate.
- Complete all necessary client documentation. Record relevant information and activities for staff on the upcoming shift.
- Assist with chores and meal preparation. Ensure nutritious meals are prepared according to the guidelines contained in the Canada Food Guide.
- Ensure basic tidiness and cleanliness of shared areas including kitchen and wash rooms.
- Ensure a safe living environment. Conduct regular safety checks and fire drills. Ensure compliance with house rules.
- Respond effectively and efficiently to any emergencies that occur during the shift.
- Monitor clients medications prompting clients as needed to assist with compliance.
- Encourage clients participation in meaningful activities
- Assist the clients in keeping scheduled appointments.
- Transport clients in the community as required.
- Assist in the supervision of group outings and events. Facilitate house meetings.
Requirements
- At least a Level 5 QQI qualification in social care or a closely related field or one year of relevant work experience preferably in a residential environment in the field of homelessness or a closely connected field.
- Possess a high level of education. It would be ideal to qualify for manual handling.
- Recognise damage minimization and low threshold operations
- Recognise the causes of homelessness the problems that homeless people face and the resources that can be provided to serve clients with complex needs.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of risk management.
- Able to act independently to handle situations as they come up and maintain composure in stressful situations
- Possess the ability to collaborate with others and recognize the value of team communication
