C-24-24 Expert in Biotechnology for genetic improvements in different crops

The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for a professional expert in Biotechnology with study background in biology or agricultural sciences to support a study analyzing the adoption of Agricultural Biotechnology in APEC member economies which represent approximately 41% of the worlds population 56% of the global GDP and 49% of global trade. The result will be a study on the Adoption of Agricultural Biotechnology which will serve as a baseline to evaluate changes over time in this technology identify trends and address the challenges to be faced.

Objectives:

1. Analyze and systematize technical and scientific information on the evolution of the adoption of Agricultural Biotechnology in the APEC Economies and other economies considering a range of 10 years.
   
2. Analyze the economic environmental or other benefits obtained from the use of Agricultural Biotechnology in the APEC Economies and other Economies in which this technology has been adopted considering a range of 10 years.
   
3. Prepare a document with the trend of research lines in Agricultural Biotechnology (plants animals and microorganisms) for the APEC Economies and other Economies in which the technology has been adopted considering a range of 10 years.

Database of international institutions that carry out Agricultural Biotechnology applied to plants animals and microorganisms.

Document with the trend of research areas in Agricultural Biotechnology (plants animals and microorganisms) for the APEC Economies and other economies considering a range of 10 years. Which must contain graphs charts and a slide presentation preparation.

Requirements

Qualifications/special skills

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and/or Agronomy and/or Genetics.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in government and/or private sectors focused on scientific research with scientific article(s) on GMOs or gene editing.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in government and/or private sectors focused on scientific research.

Advanced level of English (oralwritten) required.

Proficiency in Spanish (oralwritten) required.

Knowledge of regulatory systems concerning agricultural biotechnology.

Knowledge of genome editing techniques: CRISPRCas9 and/or CRISPRCas12 and/or CRISPRCas13.

Knowledge of whole genome analysis and genomic prediction.

Knowledge of crop adaptation to changing environmental conditions development of agronomic traits for food security.

Required abilities: Good verbal communication skills ability to work well in a team leadership ability.

Critical/logical thinking and strong organizational skills.

Availability to travel to Trujillo for the APEC event.
