Network Engineer

Seeking a Network Engineer! The Network Engineer is responsible for the design availability performance security capacity planning and license management of the our clients Network & Firewalls Infrastructure. Candidate requires understanding and oversight of multicloud (Azure/AWS) connectivity with primary and secondary data centers. Position requires the necessary experience and technical skills to oversee the installation configuration and support of the network hardware firewall security and supporting software. It requires understanding and oversight of multicloud connectivity with primary and secondary data centers.

Candidate requires strong troubleshooting and effective communication skills to extend beyond the Network Engineering team to collaborate with other technical teams clients and vendors on complex infrastructure designs and difficult troubleshooting. It also requires the ability to multitask effectively supporting multiple products running projects and troubleshooting seamlessly.

This position is a contract to permanent opportunity with our client who is offering a generous salary and benefits package. This position is a hybrid opportunity which requires 12 visits per week to our clients office / data center in either Columbia MD or Owings Mills MD.

This position requires a bachelors degree and 1012 years of experience in IT Network Operations Support. (4 additional years can supplement the degree)
Certification is required in either Palo Alto or Networking in general (Palo Alto strongly preferred).
Position requires experience with Cisco Network technology: LAN WAN SAN switches and routers. Candidate needs experience managing troubleshooting hardware/software problems. Experience managing circuit procurement and management with large Telecom provides. Requires experience managing cloud network connectivity. Implementation and management of SDWAN. Experience using network monitoring tools i.e. Solarwinds Appneta DataDog Dynatrace etc.
Position requires deep knowledge and handson experience with the various Palo Alto firewall platforms. This includes the Palo Alto Panorama and Prisma platforms.Position requires substantial knowledge of F5 Load Balancers
Position requires basic operational knowledge of both AWS and Azure Cloud Platforms
Proven ability to organize and manage multiple projects and to deliver projects on time and on budget. Requires excellent analytical and problemsolving skills required with multiple infrastructure groups. Candidate should have excellent analytical interpersonal and problemsolving skills.
Extensive office productivity software skills including Microsoft office software such as Word EXCEL Visio and PowerPoint.
