Job Description

Cewas is a Swiss nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting green entrepreneurial ecosystems and green enterprises in their journey towards impactful growth. In Jordan Cewas works with tens of entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners to foster green growth through direct acceleration of enterprises ecosystem capacity development and market development for innovative solutions in water energy agriculture and Solid waste management.

Cewas is engaging in a new project where entrepreneurial networks are to be developed in the northern region of Jordan; bringing together ecosystem partners from government private sector academia research and entrepreneurship support organizations to orchestrate the efforts dedicated to help entrepreneurs in the northern region (Mafraq and Jerash in specific).

To do this the Cewas team is hiring a shortterm contractor to support local entrepreneurial network activities in Mafraq and Jerash where Cewas will have frequent engagements with partners via meetings workshops and specialized training sessions.

Tasks

Scope of Work

The Local Coordinator will facilitate communication and coordination between network members in Mafraq and Jerash and support the project team in organizing meetings workshops and training sessions for a multitude of partners in the two cities. This role requires strong organizational skills effective communication abilities and prior experience working in a similar capacity.

The scope of this shortterm contract is limited to a maximum of 40 days of work over 12 months starting latest by Aug 25th. This role requires frequent travel between Mafraq and Jerash and constant interaction with different types of partners in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties

Communication and Coordination:

  • Handle communication with network members in Jerash and Mafraq on behalf of the project team and maintain a great relationship with all
  • Ensure timely dissemination of information and updates to all network members
  • Coordinate scheduling of network meetings and training sessions in Mafraq and Jerash.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Maintain records of all meetings and training workshops including meeting minutes.
  • Ensure that all records are properly filed and easily accessible to Cewas team.
  • Assist in taking photos and videos during meetings and training workshops

Logistical Support:

  • Provide support in operational and administrative issues in relation to the project activities in Mafraq and Jerash
  • Identifying and booking venues for meetings and training sessions in Mafraq and Jerash
  • Distribute meetings agendas and materials among participants
  • Procure necessary supplies and materials for meetings and training workshops
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure smooth logistical arrangements.

General Administrative Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to the activities in Mafraq and Jerash.
  • Provide administrative support to the team where required.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Project Management Public Management Communication International Relations Social Studies or any other relevant field.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in project coordination or administrative roles preferably in an NGO setting.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Very good communication with partners from different sectors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Competencies

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks
  • Ability to work with partners in both Mafraq and Jerash (mobility and agility)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment
