Job Description:

The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable highperformance data ingestion solutions. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather requirements creating detailed architectural plans and ensuring seamless integration of diverse data sources into the Enterprise Data Lake. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering architecture and a deep understanding of data management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Solutions Architect you are expected to:

  1. Think longterm and strategically.
  2. Delegate and empower Tech Leads for lowlevel design; collaborate with Tech Leads on highlevel solution design.
  3. Design solutions for use cases in your domain.
  4. Blueprint your domain use cases.
  5. Participate in the discovery process early on (not just a handoff process).
  6. Review and timebox solutions ahead of time (2 sprints ahead).
  7. Apply and refine approved integration patterns.
  8. Collaborate and influence other architects to align on data solution architecture and principles.
  9. Influence the team to move towards the future state while being pragmatic.
  10. Advocate for the data team strategy principles patterns and adoption.
  11. Partner with PO and EM on EPIC/features or tech platform strategy respectively.
  12. CoLead/CoChair applicable CoPs with the Product Manager.

The Senior Solutions Architect:

  • Acts as a trusted advisor influencer and thought leader.
  • Translates business objectives into technologyenabled solutions to deliver needed capabilities.
  • Influences technology strategy and advises senior leaders.
  • Applies broad technical and industry knowledge to lead innovative solutions delivery.
  • Provides leadership to support and maintain technology capabilities.
  • Collaborates across domains to understand business information and system implications.
  • Comfortably deals with ambiguity and solves complex problems.
  • Strives for continuous improvement and drives innovation.
  • Communicates effectively with leaders to align business and technical concepts.
  • Mentors trains and coaches staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Products:

  • Develop and maintain the architecture for data ingestion processes ensuring scalability reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with data engineers analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality consistency and integrity across various data sources and ingestion pipelines.
  • Implement data governance and security best practices in data ingestion processes.

General:

  • Identify information and technology solutions that enable business needs and strategies.
  • Apply business knowledge and experience to advise on technology as an enabler.
  • Analyze IT industry and market trends to determine potential impacts.
  • Develop concepts and constructs to create technologyenabled business systems.
  • Influence technology direction and provide thought leadership.
  • Consult on and manage initiatives to ensure alignment across multiple business and IT areas.
  • Mitigate risks across multiple assets information domains technologies and platforms.
  • Provide leadership mentoring and technical guidance to others.
  • Facilitate communications to obtain cooperation and agreement on complex issues.
  • Utilize negotiation and persuasion to form partnerships.
  • Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives crossing multiple assets technologies platforms departments and vendors.
  • Work within a diverse team to deliver results.

Specific Strategy and Alignment:

  • Lead the definition of conceptual and logical architecture specifications.
  • Drive and align the definition of architecture standards with business goals IT strategy and enterprise architecture visions.
  • Ensure consistent architecture decisions across departments and leverage common approaches.

Communication / Collaboration:

  • Serve as an architecture conduit for external requests and provide education on enterprise architecture directions and goals.
  • Manage organizational impacts of architecture.
  • Direct and lead enterprise architectural efforts utilizing crossfunctional knowledge.
  • Provide architecture direction and guidance to other project architects and technical staff.

Architecture Development:

  • Analyze IT industry and market trends to determine potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Identify and analyze enterprise business drivers to derive architecture requirements.
  • Work with business users enterprise architects and application engineers to develop the overall architecture approach.
  • Develop architectural best practices and standards.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to architects.

Architecture Implementation:

  • Implement overall architecture approach for all solution layers.
  • Ensure enterprise architecture standards policies and procedures are uniformly enacted across application development projects.
  • Review deliverables throughout the development cycle for quality and traceability to requirements.

Architecture Analysis and Consultation:

  • Review and provide input on proposals from an architectural perspective.
  • Assess and recommend infrastructure and application solutions for upgrades.
  • Support lines of business support staff and technology areas implementing projects impacting the architecture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect Data Engineer or similar role focusing on data lake ingestion and integration.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles.
  • Handson experience with big data technologies like Hadoop Spark or similar.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and DataBricks.
  • Excellent SQL and data manipulation skills.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a Product Operating Model.
