Job Description

Position Overview:

The Bookkeeping Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records managing accounts payable and receivable and supporting the overall financial health of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records including ledgers journals and spreadsheets.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare and process payroll ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Generate and review financial reports including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage vendor and client communications related to invoicing and payments.
  • Support the preparation of yearend financial statements and audits.
  • Assist with special projects and other accountingrelated tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in agriculture manufacturing or construction industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
