GIS Technician

Job Title: GIS Technician 1

Location: Gulfport MS

Duration: 48 months

Summary of Duties

• This position is responsible for data entry processing and maintenance of Distribution data in the companys
• Distribution Geographical Database System (DistGIS).

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associate or bachelors Degree in a GIS related field is a plus.
• Certificate in GIS is a plus.
• Experience working with ESRIs ArcMap/ArcPro and Schneiders ArcFM editing tools in Distribution electric systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Data entry into the GIS database regarding planned and completed field work.
• Data entry using AutoCAD for underground subdivisions.
• Researching and correcting Fuzzy Customers in GIS/CSS.
• Coordinate updates with the Divisions and the DCC related to projects that extend many months.
• Maintain high standards for data quality.
• Reconcile data conflicts.
• Provide storm support for ERTs and/or pinging meters.
• Provide mapping/technical support for DistGIS users.

Job Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of PD Technology processes and applications including but not limited to: DistGIS NMS JETS CSS EIS Maximo.
• Experience using Microsoft Office which includes Outlook Word Power Point and Excel.
• GIS/AutoCAD.
• Proven ability to multitask and strong decisionmaking abilities.
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
• Able to maintain focus on assigned tasks.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
