Job Description

We are looking for Accounting Manager, someone with a robust work ethic, impeccable integrity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Must have prior accounting experience within a manufacturing (or very similar) environment. Must have strong experience working within the general ledger and creating journal entries. The Accounting Supervisor will be retiring at the end of this year which could leave to advancement opportunities.

This pivotal role does require full-time presence at our facility and includes a comprehensive benefits package and competitive pay with an annual bonus up to 30%!!

About client:
A thriving, dynamic company in Melbourne, FL seeks an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to lead our financial management efforts. The successful candidate will take complete ownership of our accounting operations, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting.

What to do:
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers in line with GAAP.
  • Efficiently prepare and manage all Journal entries; oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
  • Coordinate closely with the Director for the preparation of financial statements; perform detailed financial analysis.
  • Manage site-specific financial functions including labor forecast coordination, expenditure control, and standard cost reviews.
  • Supervise and develop the accounting team, fostering an environment of growth, efficiency, and high performance.
  • Spearhead internal audits, cost savings initiatives, and process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and reporting.

You have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA designation highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in manufacturing accounting is essential, with at least 2-3 years focused on the Accounting close process.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years) is necessary, underlining your ability to mentor and manage a team.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; experience with Syteline is considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in cost accounting, financial analysis, GAAP, and ideally some familiarity with payroll functions (ADP experience beneficial).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership strengths are vital.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Capacity to work independently in a high-paced, technically advanced manufacturing setting.

  • PTO for fiscal year 2025 (begins Juy 1, 2014): 15 vacation days (the entire amount is front-loaded and can be used between 7/1/2024 – 6/30/2025).
