CNC Machinist

Overview:

This is a 1st shift opportunity in the Milling Department and involves performing a series of complex machine operations. Typical job runs are 110 parts.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma required. Advanced education or apprenticeship preferred.
• 35 years of CNC experience.
• Strong skills in editing GCode and manual programming preferred.
• Strong math skills and the ability to work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications to perform operations to the capacity of the machine and controls are also essential.

Responsibilities:

• Program setup and run Kunzmann CNC machines with Heidenhain Control.
• Setup and run CNC Vertical Machining Center DMG 103V.
• Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine.
• Edit in Gcode and manually program using Heidenhain Control.
• Setup fixturing and come up with your own set ups on machine.
• Perform first piece and inprocess quality inspections.
• Setup cutters in holders and adjust height and length.
• Read drawings/prints to identify operations specification and tolerances.
• Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements.
• Use various hand tools to finish parts and check.
• Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met.
• Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling greasing and cleaning the machine (5S).
• Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixturing and other essential equipment.
• Operate other machines in the department as needed.

Work Environment:

• Ability to lift heavy weights bend stoop and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in various conditions such as extreme heat and noise level.
• Willingness to move between work centers.

Are you legally authorized to work in the US for any employer Experience in Setting up machines edit programming read GD and T G and M code. Experience in 5axis inspection of parts. Mills Lathes. Experience in saw operator/table saw opening as well.
