Chemical Technician

Position Title: Chemical Technician

Location: Wilsonville AL 35186

Duration: 12 months

Schedule: Standard Monday Friday

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and nonroutine chemical and physical analyses of water samples to ensure compliance with water quality standards.
• Utilize and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment ensuring proper calibration and function.
• Follow proper analytical methods and techniques to achieve accurate and reproducible results.
• Prepare chemical reagents and solutions according to standard procedures.
• Operate monitor and maintain water treatment systems including deionization processes to produce highpurity water.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of water treatment plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical parts of water treatment systems as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory analyses equipment maintenance and calibration activities.
• Prepare detailed reports summarizing analytical data and operational performance for internal and regulatory review.

Requirement:

• BS degree in chemistry or other field of science with a Minimum of 12 semester hours in chemistry required.
• Prior experience and knowledge in a water treatment plant.
• Experience and competency in the use calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation/equipment; knowledge of proper analytical methods and techniques.
• Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with mechanical parts and repair.
• Knowledge and experience in production of deionized water.
