Job Description

Job Description:Position Summary:The EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our power plant outage projects. This position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in managing EHS aspects of power plant outages, particularly with direct experience working with OEMs. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all EHS protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs for power plant outages.Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards.Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.Oversee and coordinate safety procedures during power plant outages, including lockout/tagout (LOTO procedures, confined space entry, and hot work permits.Lead investigations of EHS incidents, accidents, and near-misses.Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and OEM partners.Ensure all personnel are adequately trained in EHS protocols and emergency response procedures.Work closely with OEM partners to ensure their compliance with EHS standards and procedures.Coordinate EHS activities and requirements with OEM representatives during outage projects.Conduct thorough risk assessments for all phases of power plant outages.Implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.Maintain accurate and up-to-date EHS records, including safety reports, training logs, and incident records.Prepare and present EHS performance reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.Identify opportunities for improving EHS processes and practices.Lead initiatives to enhance the overall safety culture within the organization.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS roles, specifically within power plant outages.Direct experience working with OEMs in the energy sector is required.In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.Relevant certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), or equivalent are preferred.Ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
