Position: Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU
Responsibilities: - Support supervise and evaluate new staff in a clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days on the unit.
- Act within the nursepatient nursenurse and nursesystem spheres.
- Facilitate a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to healthcare within a specialty area.
- Promote excellence in nursing care through the implementation of clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members.
- Demonstrate a firm knowledge base and clinical expertise.
- Function as a clinical resource conduct patient care consultations and provide resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.
- Support clinical rounds with the multidisciplinary healthcare team and work closely and collaboratively with physicians.
Requirements: Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS American Heart Association upon hire.
- Current certification in area of specialty (e.g. CEN CCRN) upon hire.
- 3 years of registered nursing experience in the area of specialty.
- 2 years of clinical leadership responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CNS certification in area of specialty upon hire.
