Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Cake Master in planning and creating custom cakes pastries and other baked goods.
  • Prepare and mix ingredients for cakes fillings icings and other baked items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques including piping molding and fondant work.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
  • Assist in the development of new recipes and cake designs.
  • Ensure consistency in taste quality and appearance of all baked goods.
  • Collaborate with the bakery team to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service including taking orders and providing recommendations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and techniques in cake decoration and baking.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in baking and pastry arts is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a cake decorator or similar role in a bakery.
  • Strong artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Proficiency in various cake decorating techniques including piping fondant work and molding.
  • Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques including ingredient properties and measurements.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in product quality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Customeroriented with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy baking equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in baking and pastry arts from a recognized institution.
  • Experience with advanced cake decorating techniques such as sugar art or airbrushing.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Creativity and innovation in cake design and recipe development.
