Data Engineer

We are seeking a Data Engineer for a fulltime and direct hire role for one of our amazing partners in the Fort Lauderdale FL area. This is a hybrid role that will require you to work onsite 3 days a week.

You will help build an exciting new product that will revolutionize digital marketing at a fastpaced startup under the umbrella of an established and successful business and leadership team. They make a platform that combines proprietary technology datadriven business intelligence and sophisticated digital marketing to enable large media companies and agencies to scale their focused ad sales effortlessly. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing constructing and sustaining robust data pipelines to efficiently collect process and transform data from diverse sources into usable formats.
• Craft and manage data models to guarantee data accuracy consistency and scalability across their systems.
• Develop and refine the ETL processes to facilitate the seamless movement and transformation of data.
• Integrate data from various systems and sources to make sure that data quality and reliability are upheld.
• Manage and optimize their data warehousing solutions which are critical for supporting business reporting and analytics.
• Ensure strict compliance with data governance policies by implementing rigorous data quality checks and data validation processes.
• Do performance tuning to optimize database and query performance to ensure speedy and efficient data retrieval.
• Maintain documentation of data pipelines processes and comprehensive data dictionaries.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists analysts and other stakeholders to fully understand data requirements and to provide tailormade solutions that meet their evolving business needs.
• Proactively identify and address datarelated issues by implementing robust monitoring solutions and troubleshooting them.

Required Experience:

• 46 years of handson experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g. Python Java Scala).
• Strong and indepth knowledge of data integration tools and ETL processes.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Familiar with cloudbased data platforms like Google Cloud (GCP) AWS or Azure.
• Familiar with data governance and security best practices.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Looker or Power BI is a plus.
• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.

My notes:

• Role: This is a midlevel role working with Centrifibut will be using information from Site Impact and Centrifi. They will report to the Data Scientist that we just placed in July and with a Data Analyst that they are still putting the job description together for (we will help with that too). Centrifi is about to launch their product on 7/30/2024 so likely before this person starts. It is an endtoend sales enablement tool to help their agency partners sell locally and has the potential to disrupt the market in a good way. Its a platform that combines proprietary technology datadriven business intelligence and sophisticated digital marketing to enable large media companies and agencies to scale their focused ad sales effortlessly. Their 3rd party and internal team helped with the current data architecture and everything is in Google Cloud (GCP). This is also a brandnew product with the potential to disrupt the market. You will be working closely with the Centrifi development team the feature engineering team and the product team. You will also work with Site Impact team too. (We will get more info if one of their referrals dont fill the role).
• Must have skills: midlevel Data Engineer experience. SQL. They will need exposure to programming languages like Python Java or Scala but there is no preference. Experience with cloud based data platforms (GCP is the preference but its not required). They will likely figure out what is truly needed during the interview process.
• Personalities: Exceptional problemsolving skills with excellent attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills in a teamoriented environment.
• Fall short: Tara hasnt even touched this role yet. She just got approval to get this started and hasnt even posted yet. She doesnt have enough bandwidth which is why she needs our help.
• Salary/Bonus: $125K$140K plus 5% bonus. They also have an annual bonus based on hitting metrics (50% company and 50% individual).
• Interview process: Not sure exactly but she would like to involve Lan. Im sure theyll meet with the VPs and CTO as well.

• Data Engineer vs Data Scientist: Data engineers focus on building maintaining and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure. They design systems for data collection such as databases and largescale processing systems and deal with raw data that may contain errors. Data engineers need technical skills like coding and understanding data warehouse architectures. Data scientists use the outputs of data pipelines to access and analyze data. They clean organize and interpret data using statistics or machine learning algorithms to build models and identify patterns and trends. Data scientists need skills in statistical analysis business intelligence and communication. They should also be good team leaders and analytical professionals.
• Remote/Onsite: Most employees work a hybrid onsite schedule. Everyone is there on Tuesday and Thursday but has their choice of the 3^rd day (most choose TuesThur). Management is required to come onsite 5 days a week though.

• Centrifi Overview: They are a division of Site Impact. This is their new product that they are bringing to market in July 2024 in an MVP format. It is an endtoend sales enablement tool to help their agency partners sell locally. It allows an agency to go to a dealership to find out their marketing spend for a month. They can then put in all the info they need in a proposal for them and use data that has worked in the past. They make a platform that combines proprietary technology datadriven business intelligence and sophisticated digital marketing to enable large media companies and agencies to scale their focused ad sales effortlessly. They took inmarket audiences and merged that data with analytics from websites and digital media to bring a game changer to digital media.
• Company size: 65 employees (as of May 2024) but they want to add 20 more in the Summer of 2024.
• Site Impact IT Team: They have about 30 full time technical people at Site Impact plus 24 offshore in India through their partner called Benchmark IT. Benchmark IT is also doing a software architecture upgrade for them to help with their campaigns. Internal team consists of QAs developers infrastructure etc. They have 4 dev teams each have their own directors. Directors need to be hands on 30% of time. Roughly 1416 developers 45 QAs 4 infrastructures and a scrum master.
• Centrifi IT Team: They have a team of 5 engineers a product owner and a BA They just added a Data Scientist and are now adding a Data Engineer and QA Lead. They will also be adding a Data Analyst. They are all local.
• Tech: They were a LAMP shop with Vue Vue JavaScript jQuery PHP (Laravel or cord ignitor or symphony). They had MySQL on the backend and were all Linux. They use Google Cloud (GCP).

Strong indepth knowledge of Application Development and Deployment in SaaS environments. Advanced level System Administration and Design in Windows Server SQL Server/MySQL Exchange Server VMware vSphere and AWS/LAMP environments. Led many successful CRM/ERP implementations including SAP Business One Dynamics Salesforce and NetSuite. Proven track record of managing key account relationships and largescale projects. • Personalities: They do a lot of engagement with the team and fun activities and the company wants everyone to participate. The tech team is an island of misfit toys with a variety of personalities but they have a friendly team and are very team motivated. They want to work together and are very collaborative. They like someone who is friendly not shy and not a corporate rebel. Someone who can raise their hand when there is an issue rather than waiting for it to be uncovered. Someone who is not afraid to make a mistake but is forthcoming and honest when something doesnt work. The CTO doesnt like surprises and wants to be made aware if there are any issues.
