Overview:

Position: Security Automation Engineer
Location: Englewood Cliffs NJ 07632
Duration: 6 Months
Job Type: Contract (20 Hours)
Work Type: Remote
Shift Timings: Mon Fri (9:00 AM 6:00 PM)
Job Description:
Qualifications:
- Under the direction of the Threat Detection Engineering and Security Automation manager supports the daytoday operations of the Security Automation Team.
- The Security Automation Teams main stakeholders are the departments under the Cyber Defense Organization which include teams such a threat detection organization a response organization adversary simulation and a variety of other functions.
- A Automation Engineer will develop relationships with stakeholders gather request requirements build proof of concepts support iterative feedback from the stakeholders develop and refine the automation capabilities participate in peer reviews and hand over the finalized work to the stakeholders complete with documentation.
- Responsibilities will also include further development of the automation team through training tool enhancement and process refinement.
Responsibilities:
- The following are essential job accountabilities:
- Work directly with various stakeholder groups under our Cyber Defense Organization to gather requirements and build solutions.
- Work with the stakeholders and the Detection Manager/Team Lead to prioritize long term plans such as special events and larger projects.
- Proactively and iteratively look for solutions for stakeholder needs.
- Assist Manager/Lead to develop and create automationcentric metrics and reporting.
- Write technical documentation detailing an automations intended function and rationale.
- Collaborates with Automation Manager/Team Lead in evaluating change in workflows policies procedures and implements appropriate changes.
- Assist other engineers in peer review and collaborative work.
- Willingness to mentor more junior engineers and interns.
- The following are common expectations:
- Expert level proficiency in programming preferably in Python.
- Highly proficient in working with APIs and API centric documentation.
- Working knowledge of various cyber security functions.
- Cordial and wellspoken during interactions with stakeholders.
- Ability to break down projects into separate tasks to accomplish the larger goal.
- Work within our automation development process which includes peer review and stakeholder communication.
- Previous experience working in Agile sprint processes
