Job Description

Role: Warehouse Operative
Location: Birmingham
Competitive + Company Bonus & Benefits
Hours: 12 Hour Shifts, Mix of Days and Nights

Our client, a leading international manufacturer, is currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their site in Birmingham.

As the Warehouse Operative you will work closely with the wider team to ensure the mill is able to meet production requirements. You will also ensure finished stock is quality checked and put through the AGV Automated System.

Duties include:
- To safely load company products, in accordance with safe loading procedures, onto trailers in preparation for customer shipments.
- Using as instructed control measures provided for reasons of health and safety (including safe
systems of work and personal protective equipment).
- Reporting any significant hazards and defects that could lead to harm or injury to a person, the
environment or company property.
- Reporting all accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences and co-operating in incident investigations arising from or possibly leading to health and safety and environmental matters.
- To take care of the health and safety of themselves and others
- Ensure efficient operation and coordination of transport requirements.
- Ensure reel quality and mill / customer standards are maintained.
- Maintain accurate stock keeping systems for finished reels.
- Ensure accurate receipt and storage of reels from production, customers, and outside sources.
- Completion and management of daily reports as instructed by the Production Superintendent.

What we are looking for:
- Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial but not essential.
- 3-5 GCSEs or equivalent is essential.
- Good working knowledge of general Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques would be advantageous.
- Forklift licence (in house or external) would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Comfortable dealing with high pressure situations.
- Able to collaborate professionally within cross functional and internal/external teams
