Hours: 8.30am - 4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8.30 - 4pm Fri (36 Hours)

Our client, a leading international manufacturer, is currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their site in Birmingham on a full-time, permanent contract.

As the Purchasing Manager, you will be working within the UK Purchasing Team whilst leading the local purchasing department to identify and deliver cost savings following the Purchasing strategies.

Duties include:
- Assisting with the implementation of a category management approach.
- Utilising SAP MRP to manage inventoried spare parts.
- Day-to-day supervision of the purchasing team.
- Conversion of Purchase orders following the purchasing policy.
- Sourcing non-stock engineering parts.
- Implementing service contracts as required by the business.
- SAP MM key user for the plant.
- Using efficient stock control measures to manage the central stores to ensure the security of parts, optimum working capital overhead and a high level of stock accuracy.

What we are looking for:
- Minimum 3 years experience working within Purchasing.
- Minimum 1 years experience managing a team.
- Good business acumen with the ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
- Experience using SAP would be an advantage.
- Working towards MCIPS.
