Costs Advocate

• Providing advice on intricate legal technical matters and cost disputes to clients colleagues and senior management.
  
• Drafting legal documents specific to Cost Litigation such as skeleton arguments Points of Dispute and Reply witness statements applications and draft orders.
  
• Preparing and presenting a comprehensive training schedule for both the Costs Litigation department the Specialist Serious Personal Injury teams and the wider practice group.
  
• Managing and supporting the development of team members fostering continuous learning and improvement of skills.
  
• Assisting the Practice Development Lead in preparing and implementing the Cost Litigation strategy.
  
• Attending Detailed Assessment Hearings Oral Hearings CCMC s and Cost Applications.
  

Requirements

• High degree of technical expertise in costs litigation
  
• A proven track record in an advocacy role
  
• Ability to develop strong and effective relationships with all stakeholders
  
• Handson with a cando attitude demonstrating drive discipline patience and flexibility
  
• High degree of accuracy excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail but capable of identifying and resolving wider issues
  
• Well organised with an ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands effectively
  
• Clear and influential communicator able to address different types of audiences in appropriate ways both written and verbal
  
• Genuine enthusiasm for providing a high standard of client service and an ability to promote a positive attitude
