Job Description

Themis Recruit is looking for a skilled and experienced Defendant Clinical Negligence Solicitor based in Birmingham to manage a caseload of complex clinical negligence matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in defending healthcare professionals and organizations against claims of clinical negligence ensuring the highest standards of legal representation and client service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management:

    • Handle a caseload of defendant clinical negligence matters from inception to resolution.
    • Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
    • Draft pleadings witness statements and other legal documents.
  2. Client Interaction:

    • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
    • Attend client meetings providing updates on case progress and addressing client concerns.
  3. Court Proceedings:

    • Represent clients in court attending hearings and managing the litigation process.
    • Conduct negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
  4. Legal Compliance:

    • Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting clinical negligence.
    • Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards.
  5. Team Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with colleagues within the firm to share knowledge and best practices.
    • Mentor junior members of the team and contribute to their professional development.


Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years of postqualification experience in defendant clinical negligence.
  • Strong litigation and advocacy skills with experience handling complex cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated client management and relationshipbuilding skills.
