Job Description

Themis Recruit are looking for a proactive and talented Dispute Resolution Solicitor with 13 years of postqualification experience (PQE) to join our dynamic Dispute Resolution team. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of disputes working closely with clients to resolve their legal issues efficiently and effectively including but not exclusive to: commercial property residential property contentious probate insolvency and bankruptcy contract disputes professional negligence and debt recovery. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management:

    • Handle a varied caseload of dispute resolution matters including commercial disputes contract disputes property disputes and debt recovery.
    • Conduct legal research draft legal documents and prepare case strategies.
    • Liaise with clients providing clear practical and commercially sound legal advice.
  2. Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution:

    • Represent clients in court proceedings arbitration and mediation sessions.
    • Prepare pleadings witness statements and other court documents.
    • Advise clients on the merits and risks of litigation versus alternative dispute resolution methods.
  3. Client Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients understanding their needs and objectives.
    • Ensure clients are kept informed about the progress of their cases and provide regular updates.
    • Work to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients while managing their expectations effectively.
  4. Negotiation:

    • Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing parties.
    • Draft and review settlement agreements.
    • Strive to resolve disputes amicably and costeffectively wherever possible.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and internal policies.
    • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all casework.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with dispute resolution matters.
  6. Business Development:

    • Support the team in business development activities including attending networking events and contributing to marketing initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to crosssell the firm s services to existing and potential clients.
    • Assist in the preparation of articles and updates for the firm s website and newsletters.
  7. Team Collaboration:

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to provide a seamless service to clients.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department s processes and practices.
    • Provide support and guidance to junior team members and administrative staff as required.


Requirements

  • Education: Qualified Solicitor with a current practicing certificate.
  • Experience: 13 years PQE in dispute resolution or litigation.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize effectively.
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
    • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
    • Clientfocused approach with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
