Job Summary:
The Process Control Room Operator (CRO) is responsible for the continuous monitoring and
controlling of the process parameters of converters in a (y li n) smelting process.
This includes monitoring temperature blowing air flow off gas suction heat and mass
balance etc. The CRO also ensures the production of blister copper with a minimum of
98.3% Cu and a slag losing no more than 4.5% copper.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Continuously monitors and controls process parameters of converters including
temp blowing air flow off gas suction heat and mass balance etc.
2. Ensures the production of blister copper with a minimum of 98.3% Cu content
3. Ensures that the slag has a copper loss of up to 4.5% only
4. Maintains heat balance by adding revert and internal/external copper scrap to
achieve production targets
5. Minimizes blow time to increase converter life and daily production
6. Manages EOT Crane and earth moving equipment
