Market Job Description

Designs validates and brings new products to market Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the designs overall effectiveness cost reliability and safety Designs develops executes and evaluates fitnessforuse testing product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners contract manufacturers designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings

The primary function or overall purpose of this position.

The Customer Order Engineer (Electrical Product Engineer) plays a vital role in the design and development of custom electrical products tailored to the customers specific needs. This role will work closely with the sales engineering and production teams to create detailed electrical designs generate accurate quotes and Bills of Materials (BOMs) and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

o Maintain thorough documentation of electrical designs quotes BOMs and related project data.

o Ensure that all documentation is organized accessible and up to date.

Quality Assurance:

o Conduct quality checks on electrical designs to ensure accuracy and reliability.

o Participate in design reviews to identify and address potential issues early in the process.

Continuous Improvement:

o Stay current with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in electrical engineering.

o Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in electrical design and quoting.

Performance Dimensions:

Design Accuracy Percentage of electrical designs that meet customer specifications without major revisions. Number of design errors or issues identified during internal and external reviews.

BOM Management Accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) created in the ERP system.

Must have:

480 Volts Power Distribution and Electrical Product Design Experience

We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience designing electrical power distribution circuits/installations typically at 480V (but it could be 277V 600V etc). We want this person be familiar with 3phase distribution systems: Breakers Transformers Disconnects etc.
