You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJob Description: Financial ControllerLocation: Marylebone LondonCompany: Private Family Office (Portfolio of Residential and Retail Assets)Overview: A private family office in Marylebone is seeking an experienced Financial Controller as they transition into a development phase and asset management. This role demands strong accounting technical expertise a collaborative approach an entrepreneurial nature and the ability to provide comprehensive accounting guidance and support across the business.Key Responsibilities:
Financial Processes Management:
- Oversee all financial processes including financial reporting accounting taxation and invoicing.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to align with company goals and objectives.
Financial Statements and Reporting:
- Prepare consolidated financial statements ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant standards.
- Drive improvements in the efficiency of the financial close process.
Audit and Compliance:
- Manage external audits in compliance with British accounting standards (FRS and IFRS).
Ensure audits are conducted in compliance with standards and assist as needed with annual and semiannual forecasts.- Handle quarterly VAT and annual corporate tax returns.
- Proactively engage with external auditors for timely resolution of issues.
Technical Accounting Expertise:
- Provide guidance on complex accounting issues from transaction/investment activities.
- Stay updated on real estate industry trends and economic developments.
- Monitor changes in accounting regulations assess their impact and implement necessary changes.
Documentation and Support:
- Draft accounting papers to support the company s approach on key estimates and judgements.
Internal Controls and Improvement:
- Foster a culture of financial discipline accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure robustness of internal controls.
CrossDisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work across disciplines and countries in accounting treasury management HR and company secretarial services.
- Utilise financial knowhow to improve processes and increase efficiency.
Ad Hoc Projects:
- Assist in various financial projects and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
ACA ACCA or CIMA Strong technical accounting expertise particularly with IFRS and FRS.- Proven experience in financial reporting taxation and audit management.
- Indepth knowledge of real estate industry trends and developments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work across different disciplines and geographies.
- Proficiency in managing external auditors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
