Job Description

Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing and managing the companys payroll ensuring accurate and timely compensation of employees. This role involves auditing benefit deductions garnishments taxes and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration and a thorough understanding of payroll regulations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly payroll for up to 100 employees.
  • Manage benefit deductions garnishments and tax withholdings.
  • Prepare and print payroll checks.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll regulations.
  • Handle payroll audits and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and processing their payroll information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Previous experience of payroll in manufacturing/construction industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. QuickBooks ADP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Effective communication skills and a customerservice orientation.
  • Experience with benefit administration and labor tax management.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software.
