LOCATION: LAGOS
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Translate broad objectives of the organization into specific goals for effective implementation plans with the legal department.
Participate actively in the organization strategy and budget preparation in line with key performance indicators.
Ensure compliance with CAMA and other relevant regulatory laws and requirements.
Oversee all legal matters relating to the organization including acting as the organization s legal representative.
Provide legal advisory support relating to local and international laws and regulatory requirements as it affects the organization.
Draft and review agreements with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) clients vendors etc.
Advice on compliance requirements and provide legal advice to protect the interests of the organization.
Provide transaction advisory including capital structuring and reorganization transfer of shares increasing capital allotments rights issues bonus issues preparation of share subscription agreements and shareholders agreements etc.
Advises on legal implications of the organization s policies and procedures.
Lead daytoday operations of the legal department.
Implement key legal processes relating to legal drafting negotiations and commercial agreements/contracts IP and other statutory requirements.
Prepare operational legal and other documentation to advance the interest of the organization.
Design a functional legal department structure.
Manage the legal department with a view to delivering on its accountabilities to the Organization.
Interface with relevant government MDAs business partners and external solicitors on all and motivated workforce.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the Head SSC.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor s degree in law (21). Masters/MBA is desirable.
At least 10 12 years experience with at least 5 years in similar/management position.
Cognate experience in corporate and commercial legal practice.
Relevant professional qualification and membership is required.
Attendance of relevant management development programs from reputable institutions is desirable.
