Job Description
What you will be doing:
Performing failure analysis
Engineering and inspection reviews
Assisting with mechanical integrity audits
Performing fitnessforservice life assessments
Conducting risk evaluations
Participating in onsite accident and incident investigations of industrial locations
Initiating promotional activities
Overseeing and performing laboratory testing as needed
Conducting research and development
Writing and presenting findings from investigations
Providing legal and consulting services as needed
Experience you will need:
At least a bachelors degree in materials metallurgical or mechanical engineering. A masters degree or PhD would be preferred.
Registered as a professional engineer
6 to 12 years of experience in establishing mechanical integrity controls performing failure analysis life assessments and incident investigations
Good verbal and written communication skills for interactions with technical personnel government agencies and managers
Experience establishing mechanical integrity and inspection programs
Experience working with various structural materials and an understanding of basic failure mechanisms and fracture behavior
Familiarity with standard metallurgical lab equipment polishing practices optical and scanning electron microscopes material testing and inspection techniques
Experience working with various metal alloy systems polymeric materials and coatings
Experience working with industrial equipment including piping pressure vessels and rotating and fixed equipment
