Job Description

The Hygiene Officer is responsible for the maintenance/upgrade of sanitation and hygiene standards to ensure all food served to guests and employees are free of microbiological, chemical and physical contamination and all work areas conform to required Hygiene and Sanitation levels. Specifically, the Hygiene Officer will perform the following tasks to the highest standards: • Maintain and upgrade sanitation and hygiene standards to prevent contamination • Ensure work areas, stores, receiving, and disposal areas meet hygiene standards • Maintain sanitation records and hygiene efforts documentation • Formulate and maintain an up-to-date methodology manual • Perform special assignments and projects • Support the FSS Monthly Meeting • Monitor and perform procedures for sanitation and hygiene • Conduct monthly sanitation inspections and generate reports • Liaise with external agencies on sanitary matters • Monitor personal hygiene and work habits of team members • Report structural deficiencies in food operations • Manage pest control and waste disposal systems • Maintain food safety documentation and records • Conduct food safety and hygiene training for staff • Review staff implementation of food safety skills • Follow company policies and procedures • Keep the office/section clean and organized What are we looking for? To successfully full this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow: • 2-3 years of experience as a Hygiene Officer in a hotel or large restaurant complex, preferably in the hotel industry • Good communication and guest relations skills • Creative, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver • Team player with strong team-building skills • Ability to motivate and empower team members • Personable, reliable, and approachable with a positive attitude • Strong leadership skills with a high degree of integrity • Good personal grooming and presentation • Respect for local culture and adaptability • Qualification in Kitchen Production, Butchery, and Management • Good computer skills and knowledge of current culinary trends • Certifications in Food Science, such as GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and FSSC 22000 What will it be like to work for Hilton?
