Position Overview:
The Vice President of Finance (VP of Finance) is responsible for directing and overseeing the financial activities of the company including the preparation of financial reports summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. The VP of Finance will also oversee the organizations accounting functions manage the financial and risk management operations develop financial strategies and monitor the control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the companys strategic goals.
- Provide leadership in the development of continuous evaluation of short and longterm strategic financial objectives.
- Create coordinate and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting tax planning real estate and conservation of assets.
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of all financial reporting.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
Risk Management:
- Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Oversee and manage all treasury activities including cash flow management and investment strategies.
Operational Efficiency:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the companys operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide leadership direction and management of the finance and accounting team.
- Mentor and develop the finance team managing work allocation training problem resolution performance evaluation and the building of an effective team dynamic.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
- Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with all financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified CA
- Proven experience as a VP of Finance or similar role in finance management.
- Strong financial and accounting background including an understanding of profit and loss balance sheet cash flow management general finance and budgeting.
- Experience with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical strategic planning and organizational skills.
- Series A funding experience preferred.
