Are you a passionate cell biologist with experience in the characterisation and screening of pharmacological target molecules

Your Responsibilities

We are currently expanding our department for pharmacological target characterization and target screening in
the field of pharmacooncology (molecular cancer therapy).
Here we focus on the areas of unmet therapeutic need such as colon and lung cancer. We use our tissue
library to identify new treatment targets which we validate.
The department receives validated proteins as targets from the target validation group which are
characterized biochemically according to the current state of the art.
Your group then produces or procures the corresponding materials (antibodies constructs inhibitors etc.).
If it is possible to screen the proteins for ligands in the cellfree system the proteins are expressed in functional
form and purified. If only screening in the cellbased system is possible your group creates the plasmid
constructs for this and validates them.
For selected targets we also perform hit identification and hittolead search
You will then establish and support the corresponding screening process and contribute to the generation
of the associated patent application.

Our Requirements

• PhD in cell biology or biochemistry after studying biology biochemistry chemistry medicine or molecular medicine or comparable subjects
• At least 3 years of professional experience in the cell biological characterization of target molecules or in the establishment of screening procedures for target molecules in cellfree and cellbased systems (essential)
• Very good written and spoken English good oral German skills
