Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our HR and finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely managing employee benefits and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role is essential in maintaining employee satisfaction and financial accuracy within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time including hourly salaried and contract workers.
  • Verify timesheets calculate wages and ensure proper deductions for taxes benefits garnishments and other withholdings.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records including changes in salaries benefits and tax withholdings.
  • Manage direct deposit setup and ensure timely distribution of paychecks.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns ensuring compliance with federal state and local laws.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance retirement plans and other benefits.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll benefits and deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute annual W2 and 1099 forms.
  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation for internal and external auditors.
  • Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in accounting finance or related field; bachelors degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
