Job Description

Job Description:

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the performance integrity and security of our databases. This role includes planning and development of the database as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. The ideal candidate will ensure that our databases are running efficiently and securely to support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design install configure and maintain database systems to ensure high performance availability and security.
  • Monitor database performance implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
  • Perform database tuning query optimization and schema refinement.
  • Implement and manage backup recovery and disaster recovery plans.
  • Develop implement and maintain database policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data integrity and security through appropriate access controls auditing and data encryption.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design database structures that meet application requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
  • Provide support and guidance to endusers and other IT staff on databaserelated issues.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. SQL Server Oracle MySQL PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Experience with backup and recovery tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with data security practices and tools.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Oracle Certified Professional or similar are a plus.
