Site Engineer - Civil -

Job Description: PILLARS a leading construction company in Uganda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team in Kampala. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of civil engineering projects from planning and design to execution and completion. The Site Engineer will work closely with the project team to ensure that projects are completed on time within budget and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Plan and oversee construction projects from start to finish ensuring that they are completed within budget and on schedule. 2. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure that work is being carried out according to specifications. 3. Liaise with architects engineers and contractors to ensure that designs are feasible and meet all necessary requirements. 4. Prepare and review project plans budgets and schedules and make necessary adjustments as needed. 5. Manage and supervise construction workers and subcontractors ensuring that they are following safety protocols and completing tasks efficiently. 6. Maintain accurate records and documentation of project progress expenses and any issues that arise. 7. Coordinate with local authorities and obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction projects. 8. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure that work meets all relevant standards and specifications. 9. Communicate regularly with project stakeholders providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns or issues. 10. Identify and resolve any problems or delays that may arise during the construction process. Requirements: 1. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering preferably in the construction industry. 3. Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and equipment. 4. Excellent project management and organizational skills. 5. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. 6. Strong leadership and communication skills. 7. Proficiency in computeraided design (CAD) software. 8. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations. 9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 10. Willingness to work onsite and travel to different project locations.
