Job Description

Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the monthend closing financial reporting and analysis processes for a chemical manufacturer based in Memphis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly and quarterly closing processes for US plants.
  • Implement updates or new accounting procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with operations to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the standard cost system including bills of materials manufacturing routings and purchasing information.
  • Oversee the recording and reporting of purchase price and manufacturing variances.
  • Manage unit cost reporting for manufactured products and perform variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with external financial audits and other thirdparty requirements (e.g. FDA/Quality procedures).
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure a rigorous physical inventory verification process and communicate results to external auditors.
  • Act as a liaison with operations to improve and develop weekly/monthly reporting for timely and accurate information.
  • Design and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Lead develop and retain a talented team. Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure alignment with functional and company goals.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
  • 510 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical industry a plus).
  • International experience a plus.
  • Detailoriented with a strong work ethic and experience collaborating across departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with exceptional Excel skills.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Selfmotivated and performancedriven.
  • Ability to independently complete complex tasks report daily progress and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
