Job Description

Lakeside HR Group is recruiting an Accountant for an industrial services company based in Keokuk Iowa. Our client is a specialty industrial service contractor offering services in Industrial Coatings Scaffold Erection and Industrial Insulation installation. With over 50 years of experience they provide safe and timely solutions to keep their customers operational. They are seeking a selfdriven and enthusiastic Accountant to join their accounting department. This role offers the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills while supporting the organization in achieving its goals. Our client is open to candidates from the Chicago area to work in their Oakbrook office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Payroll functions.
  • Create A/R invoices and maintain client communications.
  • Follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Review field records for job costing accuracy and completeness.
  • Input and review job budgets.
  • Communicate with Project Managers regarding job status and proposals.
  • Confirm that jobs are being built correctly and efficiently.
  • Review and potentially reference old code books for accuracy.
  • Perform daytoday accounting tasks.
  • Work with Sage ERP software and thirdparty applications.
  • Assist in preparing and explaining financial and operational reports.
  • Identify areas for improvement and efficiencies in accounting and operations.
  • Flexibility to take on additional assignments as needed.
  • Bring innovative ideas and improvements to the team.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook).
  • Experience with Sage or similar ERP software is preferred.
  • Job costing and general accounting experience.
  • Experience with reviewing and confirming job builds and previous job cost experience.
  • Strong integrity and professional ethics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to multitask prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.
